International Network – Sustainability

Corporate Social Responsibility

Without logistics providers like GO!, a closely integrated economy and ensuring availability of goods would be inconceivable.
Our sense of responsibility and our commitment to viable logistics solutions are correspondingly strong. We are committed to achieving a balance between cost-effective commercial operations and eco-friendly business activities.

Our principles

Our commitment to sustainability is firmly rooted in our corporate philosophy and extends across our entire corporate and value chain. The principles of GO! are expressed in guiding principles that are actively practised by every employee and contribute to providing the best possible support to our customers.

Our employees

Flat hierarchies, short channels of communication and a high level of personal responsibility shape our day-to-day work. We encourage our employees to contribute their ideas proactively.

We have always supported our employees with their personal and professional development and offer numerous opportunities for advancement. Internal and external training and continuing professional development programmes ensure that know-how is available across the board.

Seals of quality such as “Top Company” and “Open Company” from kununu as well as numerous awards with a very good recommendation rate confirm the high level of employee satisfaction at GO!

Our partners and contractors

Our partners and subcontractors are an essential element of our service promise and our quality standards. We offer varied activities and flexibility alongside a stable contractual relationship and fair and punctual remuneration. We also encourage and support the continued development of our company, for instance in terms of occupational safety and the quality of our subcontractors, through regular training courses. From load securing to hazardous goods, our subcontractors possess the latest know-how and keep pace with the increasing requirements of the market and the industry.

Our commitment

GO! embraces social responsibility and supports numerous social projects with both financial resources and active local participation. These range from support for non-profit projects and associations to charity events and sports sponsorship. In keeping with our decentralised organisation, we take this into account at a local level, and in Hamburg, for example, we sponsor children through Plan International. There are numerous other social projects with a regional connection in which we are also actively involved. For example, many employees have registered as potential stem cell donors in the DKMS database, help out at the Sternenbrücke children’s hospice and support the food banks in Hamburg and Lübeck.

Safety and security

Safety and security are deeply rooted in our company. Improving this is one of our essential practices, applies equally to facilities and goods in transit, data and staff, and is regularly reviewed in internal audits. We protect our clients’ property with the utmost sensitivity and care.

Protecting personal data and treating it confidentially is mandatory. We treat customer and recipient data provided to us with the utmost care and in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation.

The health of our employees is the mainstay of our group of companies. We continuously improve occupational health and safety to safeguard the health of our employees. This includes regular training, inspections and audits. This is complemented by company health management and local disease prevention services.

Our compliance guidelines

GO! does not tolerate corruption or anti-trust violations. We are transparent and act honestly, thoughtfully and responsibly. Every member of staff is called upon to implement this actively within the scope of his or her area of responsibility. Bribes and anti-trust collusion are not a means of obtaining contracts at GO!

Environmental policy in the international network

GO! Express & Logistics Deutschland GmbH has set itself the goal of pursuing a sustainable environmental policy. We see environmental protection as a corporate responsibility and are committed to conserving natural resources and reducing harmful influences on the environment. Our environmental awareness is reflected in our business philosophy and activities.

The relevant legal and regulatory requirements are the basis for our environmental protection measures. With due regard to technical and economic feasibility, we regard the environmentally relevant laws and regulations as a minimum requirement and try to adopt measures that go beyond them.

We aspire to improvement. As part of these efforts, we regularly review our environmental goals to ensure that they are being met, continuously evaluate them, and adjust them as necessary. At the same time, we have set ourselves the goal of continuously improving our environmental management system.

In this context, we pay particular attention to smart management of logistics flows. Our routing is reviewed on an ongoing basis and adjusted if necessary. Two additional regional hubs have been opened and made operational since 2017. By using our seven regional sorting centres and optimising the usage of our scheduled vehicles, which also travel directly between the facilities, we reduce the number of scheduled network kilometres travelled per package.

With regard to the delivery process, we protect the environment by offering complementary delivery options, such as individual agreements on replacement deliveries, grouping of deliveries and pick-ups. We also continuously examine and optimise our transport routes and minimise avoidable traffic. Recipients are informed about deliveries in order to avoid multiple delivery attempts.

For many years now, we have also been ensuring that our printed matter, such as advertising materials and business stationery, is produced in a carbon-neutral manner, and we have been promoting environmentally friendly construction methods at our facilities through the use of solar power, electric and gas filling stations, and energy-saving LED technology.

This is how we work as a whole to make our social contribution to sustainable business operations. In keeping with this, we are currently implementing an environmental management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001, and GO! Germany was already certified in 2021.

Last, but not least: certified quality

We continuously review and improve the quality of our services. The GO! quality management is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. The audit covers all of the company’s processes and is the basis for carrying out our transport services. We also comply with the Guidelines for Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (GDP). Our conformity to GDP is certified in writing.
